Pakhomov Viktor Ivanovich, born in 1958, graduated with honors from the Azov-Black Sea Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, in the specialty “mechanization of agriculture” in 1980. In 1986 he finished postgraduate studies at the All-Russian Research and Design and Technological Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture named after the Order of the Labor Red Banner.

He defended his PhD thesis in 1988, and his doctoral thesis in 2002 in the specialties “Technologies and methods of mechanization of agriculture” and “Electrical technologies and electrical equipment in agriculture”. He was awarded with the academic titles of senior researcher in 1996, associate professor in 2019, professor in 2023 in the specialty “Technologies, machines and equipment for the agro-industrial complex”. In 2022, he became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

V.I. Pakhomov is a professional in the field of mechanization, electrification and automation of agriculture, the author of 321 scientific papers, including 31 books, monographs, textbooks, 45 author certificates and patents. There are papers in the leading publications of the "White List" in recent years. Also, there are 9 papers indexed in the international databases Web of Science, and 37 in Scopus.

The main research works are devoted to the development and improvement of resource-saving technologies and technical means of cultivating and harvesting agricultural crops, post-harvest processing of grain and seeds using electrophysical methods, preparation of balanced complete feeds for livestock, poultry and aquaculture.

He developed a concept and model for differentiated harvesting of grain crops at different stages of maturity, including early ones, as well as a method of making valuable feed additives with a high content of essential amino acids from the resulting raw materials.

V.I. Pakhomov is currently a part-time lecturer at the integrated basic department of “Technologies and equipment for processing agricultural products” established together with the FSBSI “ARC “Donskoy” and DSTU, he is the deputy chairman of the dissertation council 24.2.297.06 at DSTU. Due to his scientific supervision, there have been prepared 4 candidate and 2 doctoral dissertations.

V.I. Pakhomov is an expert of the RAS, a member of the editorial boards of the journals “Machinery and Technologies in Livestock”, “Young Researcher of Don”; member of the MEaA section of the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the RAS; a member of the coordinating councils for environmental protection and use of natural resources of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Rostov Region, REC of the South of Russia.

He has been repeatedly awarded with the Certificates of Honor from the Russian Agricultural Academy, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues of the Russian Federation. He was awarded with the Letters of Gratitude from the Government of the Rostov Region and the Legislative Assembly. In 2011 he was awarded the title of “Honorary Worker of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Russia”.

In 2022 he was awarded with the honorary title “Honored Worker of Science and High Technologies of the Russian Federation” and was awarded with the Medal of the Order “For Services to the Rostov Region”. In 2023 he was awarded with the honorary title “Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Russian Federation” and with the medal “For Contribution to the Implementation of State Policy in the Field of Education, Scientific and Technological Development”.
